POPULAR QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ABOUT STREET URBAN DANCE COMPANIES STREET DANCE CLASSES THAT PEOPLE ASK

With SUDC we like to make things flexible for our customers and there for we dont make our student sign up for 10 week course or payment up front. Its all nice and simple just turn up to class 10 minutes before the start and pay the instructor before the start of the class. Since we teach new choreography every week it doesn't matter what time of year you join, just run up with lots of enthusiasm .

ARE ALL PEOPLE WHO COME TO CLASS AMAZING DANCERS?

All SUDC classes we welcome people of all levels since the classes are on a drop in basis there is always a mixture of people from the budding beginner to improver dancer to in some classes we have other teachers from other dance companies coming to learn something new. Since the classes are mixed level never compare yourself to others in the class everyone learns at different rates and for some people they have been training for years.

With training over the weeks and months an attending classes on a regular basis anyone can improve their fitness and coordination and improve their dance skills. Remember those people in pop videos and films are the best in the world and train every day for hours and days so to obtain a good standard which anyone can achieve with time and hard work.

I HAVE TWO LEFT FEET AM I BEYOND HELP?

If you can walk in time then you have rhythm. Dancing is no different learning a new skill like a language that will take alot of time, practice and patience to get confident. We always suggest that if you find the classes hard at first is to try and come to two classes a week that way you get to practice the same routine twice and become more confident with the funky moves. Noone starts classes as amazing dancers so just be patient, listen and have fun. .

ARE ALL STUDENTS WHO COME TO CLASS TEENAGERS?

NO!! Most people who attend the adult classes are between the ages of 17 to 38 so we attract a wide variety of ages. As long as you have reasonably good fitness and a ton of enthusiasm come along and give the classes ago.

DO CLASSES RUN IN SCHOOL HOLIDAYS?

All classes run 50 weeks of the year....YESS that right you heard it you can dance through the whole year apart from two weeks at christmas....even we need a break.

WHAT SHALL I WEAR TO CLASS?

Gone are the days of wearing MC HAMMER clothes lycra and Flashdance leg warmers. When attending class just make sure your wear clothing that you feel comfortable in doing high intensity exercise in. So clothing to wear would be baggy tracksuit bottoms, combats and a t shirt with some safe trainers for exercise and a bottle of water and your ready to get your groove on.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO BE AN AMAZING DANCER?

How long is a piece of string. Like learning any skill in life it takes a long time to be good at anything and dancing is no different. Students initally find learning choreograghy challenging but over time and coming to our classes on a regular basis you will improve your coordination. * Street dancing can be a fast paced physically demanding form of dancing and due to health and safety we are not liable for injuries during class if students have not made the instructor aware of any condition that may effect their performance in class.
* Since we take the health and safety of our students taking part very seriously we feel the classes maybe unsuitable for the following group of individuals,
* Individuals with knee and join problems (street dance is demanding physically on the knees which we would not any students to aggravate this condition)
