“A dancer journey - Its all about the energy, passion and the challenge” Ellie, 20, Horsham, W. Sussex

"Wagwaaan?! wassup ma homies!.....yeah….ok…So it seems writing a profile is possibly one of the hardest things – without making it sound like some sort of blind date introduction (Hi…..Im Ellie, I'm 20 years old…..etc) or a gangsters note to their mother they never knew…(Sup, they call me Ellie-B….then what?!) but hey – I guess this is a start! And you already now know my name (Ellie) and my age (its not as bad as some but I'm still not going to repeat it!) so that’s progress surely!?
WELCOME TO MY AMAZING PAGE – A DANCERS JOURNEY! I'll be posting some articles, stories and letting all you lovely people read about my journey with dance – and maybe (if I'm THAT good) inspire you to start your own journey busting the moves, and throwing the shapes!
"
Here’s 10 things about me…(this may be easier to write. I can deal with bullet points!)
- I started tap dancing when I was about 14 years old. I wasn’t very good at it and it kind of put me off dancing…UNTIL NOW!
- I love, and take part in, lots of amateur dramatics and theatre stuff! Gotta love the stage!
- I have two cats….(we are only on point 3 and I'm struggling!)
- Since starting street dance, I have adopted an unhealthy addiction for trainers [:-/]
- I have a full time job in…wait for it….Insurance. hmm….
- I love having hobbies…over the years I've tried trampolining (silver medalist in the south of England – get me!... yeah ok…I was only 9 years old, sounds better than it probably is!), roller blading, cycling, swimming, netball, football, rounders, rugby, majorettes (baton twirling…that didn’t last long!)…I'm in a show choir (bit like Glee…I'm not doing myself any favours here am i? Trust me, its cooler than you think!) ANYWAY the list goes on – I love trying things and sticking with the ones I love! Not to mention street dancing!!!
- I believe that anything is possible if you try hard enough
- I love the summer!
- I cant live without my mobile phone or hair straighteners!
- I love my family and friends!
So how on earth did I get into Street Dance?
I started street dance at the beginning of January 2012...it's something ive always wanted to do but never had the drive and confidence to get up and try it. So the first week of January (kinda down to new years resolutions I guess) I timidly arrived at the Crawley session of the wonderful SUDC's dance classes.....and here I am now. A full blown dance addict...and loving it.
So this page is to share with you all the journey I am taking!
